Crafting Harmony: Lake Refuge by Leila Dionizios

Architect Leila Dionizios unveils Lake Refuge, an 80m² haven designed for CasaCor Rio 2023, emphasizing comfort, well-being, and a deep connection with nature. Through meticulous design choices and thoughtful integration of natural elements, Lake Refuge offers a serene retreat amidst the bustling cityscape.

Embracing Nature’s Embrace

Lake Refuge celebrates the synergy between modern living and the natural world. Built from repurposed shipping containers, the space exudes a blend of Scandinavian simplicity and tropical charm. Light tones and natural materials dominate the interior, fostering a sense of tranquility and warmth.

The Serenity of Water

Central to the design is a serene artificial lake, expertly executed by Bernardo Vieira of Beleza Pura Lagos e Jardins. Encircling the bungalow, the lake serves as a focal point, fostering a deep connection with nature. A wooden deck extends from the bungalow, inviting contemplation and socialization amidst lush greenery.

Natural Landscaping Elegance

Ana Veras’s landscaping expertise accentuates the natural beauty of Lake Refuge. Indigenous plant species adorn the shores, complemented by the delicate blooms of Waterlilies and Pickerelweeds. The carefully curated flora, including native Bromeliads and Guaimbé, enhances the space’s sophistication and ecological harmony.

Brazilian Design Elegance

Lake Refuge showcases a curated selection of Brazilian design furniture, including pieces by renowned designers such as Jean Gillon and Jorge Zalszupin. The bedroom features a sumptuous bed upholstered in off-white boucle fabric, offering both comfort and style. The bathroom, nestled within the natural surroundings, exudes elegance with a Corian bathtub and raw stone countertops.

A Harmonious Retreat

At Lake Refuge, Leila Dionizios invites visitors to immerse themselves in a harmonious sanctuary where modern living seamlessly integrates with nature. From the tranquil waters of the artificial lake to the curated selection of Brazilian design furniture, every element reflects a commitment to comfort, well-being, and ecological consciousness. As guests unwind beneath the glass skylight, overlooking the verdant treetops, they are reminded of the profound beauty and serenity of the natural world.
