Redefining Sportswear Retail: PULSE Store by Sobchenko Architects

PULSE is more than just a sportswear store; it’s a meticulously crafted space that redefines the traditional concept of retail. Designed by Sobchenko Architects in Kyiv, Ukraine, PULSE embodies a new approach to how a sportswear store should look, feel, and function.

Minimalist Aesthetics with a Dynamic Twist

Rooted in a minimalist style, PULSE focuses on two primary materials: concrete and polished metal. This intentional choice reflects the core theme of the project—dynamics. The architecture creates a sense of movement, as if the entire store is in motion, echoing the dynamic nature of sports. The subdued color scheme allows the rawness of the materials to shine, enhancing the overall aesthetic while also reflecting the current context in Kyiv.

Integrating Contextual Elements

PULSE acknowledges the world beyond its walls by incorporating a “Military Zone” within its space. Genuine 120mm ammunition crates are repurposed as shoe stands, serving as a subtle nod to current events and their impact on our lives. Thoughtfully placed light fixtures and strategically positioned mirrors enhance the space, while a “Green Zone” beneath the stairs adds a touch of nature with unique plants like succulents and cacti, reflecting the theme of dynamic tension.

Unique Experiences on Every Floor

The second floor of PULSE offers a surreal experience with decor featuring uniquely shaped natural stones and mirrors. Comfortable fitting rooms are thoughtfully designed to provide customers with a seamless shopping experience, emphasizing both style and functionality.

A Manifesto in Metal and Concrete

PULSE transcends traditional retail projects; it’s a manifesto encapsulated in metal and concrete. It symbolizes energy, movement, struggle, and transformation, reflecting a meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of its design. Beyond being fashionable, PULSE sets a new trend in sportswear retail, offering a unique and immersive shopping experience for its customers.
